Fraud and scam advice
We are aware of recent fraud and scams involving individuals who will telephone members of the public claiming to be either a High Court Enforcement Officer (HCEO), Certificated Enforcement Agent (CEA) or bailiff. During these calls members of the public will either be given a sort code and bank account number and be asked to transfer a sum money or asked to provide their bank account number and sort code.
In these circumstances you should NEVER transfer any money or provide your bank details. Instead you should contact the relevant enforcement company that the individual claims to be employed by or, in the case of someone claiming to be a HMCTS bailiff, your local county court. If you believe you have been a victim of this scam you should report the matter to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or via their website at www.actionfraud.police.uk.
