BID levy

Business improvement Districts (BID) are partnerships created to deliver additional services to local businesses.

The services provided by a BID district are paid for by the collection of a levy.

Although most BID districts cover the area of a specific local authority, some cover multiple authorities and work across local authority boundaries.

The BID levy is usually between 1% and 4% of the rateable value of the business premises and businesses must pay as the levy is compulsory.
